As part of the University of Warwick’s commitment to deepening international collaboration and advancing its global strategy, a Warwick delegation led by Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), spent a week of meaningful engagement in the Greater Bay Area of China. The visit included key stops in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Shenzhen, reflecting Warwick’s strategic focus on building meaningful partnerships across Asia.
ERC awards Warwick researchers with prestigious next-generation funding
Dr Hannes Houck (Chemistry) and Dr João Monteiro (Life Sciences) have been awarded €1.5 million starting grants by the European Research Council (ERC). This funding, part of a €761 million initiative, empowers visionary talents to establish independent teams and pursue groundbreaking research across Europe.
Springboard Programme for UK-Germany partnerships

The British Council in Germany is launching the Springboard Programme call to either build new or strengthen existing scientific collaborations between German and British labs involving early career researchers. This scheme is part of the British Council Going Global Partnerships Programme.

Global Collaboration: Chinese Universities Visit Warwick to explore Student Wellbeing
The University of Warwick was proud to host a delegation from universities across China, all working in professional support services. Their visit, coordinated by Oxford Prospects, formed part of a UK-wide tour to explore best practices in student wellbeing support within higher education.
Warwick Announces New Director of the Warwick Venice Centre
The University of Warwick is pleased to announce the appointment, effective 1st August, of Dr Bryan Brazeau as the new Director of the Warwick Venice Centre (WVC). This strategic leadership role will see Dr Brazeau working in close collaboration with Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), to guide the Centre into its next phase of growth and innovation.
Horizon Europe 2028 - 2034: twice bigger, simpler, faster and more impactful
As part of the next long-term EU budget 2028-2034, the Commission is proposing to double the budget of the research and innovation framework programme to €175 billion
