Through deepening our understanding of priorities and development needs of our partners, Warwick is building collaborations rooted in principles of equality and mutually beneficial engagement.

The Warwick Africa Hub focuses on advancing new research ideas unconstrained by disciplinary boundaries. Our ambition is for collaborations that extend beyond universities.

Distinguished Africa Lecture

Monday 3rd June, 4pm: This year's lecture will be delivered by Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, United Nations University Rector and UN Under-Secretary General. The lecture will focus on Higher Education in Africa in the era of Artificial Intelligence and will be available to attend in person on the University of Warwick campus, or online.

Stellenbosch partnership

Collaborate with Stellenbosch

In 2022, Stellenbosch University and the University of Warwick signed an agreement with the aim of combining expertise and engaging in collaborative activities. One of the aims of the agreement is to support collaboration between the two universities. This talk will showcase Stellenbosch's research and innovation, and give an overview of the collaboration opportunities available for Warwick staff.

Stellenbosch-Warwick Joint Seed Fund

The Stellenbosch-Warwick Seed Fund is designed to flexibly support Stellenbosch and Warwick researchers and professional service staff to establish new links and advance existing collaborations.

Africa Hub Visiting PhD Fellowships

The Africa Hub is delighted to announce our inaugural round of Visiting PhD Fellowships for students registered at African universities.

African Visiting Research Fellow

We are supporting the development of the next-generation African research leaders. Research Fellows visit Warwick and establish connections with academics and departments with the aim of developing an application for an externally funded fellowship.

The Ashinaga AssociationLink opens in a new window

Our partnership with the Association brings the brightest minds from across Sub-Saharan Africa, who have been orphaned or grown up with a single parent, to study at the University.

Warwick in Africa

A student volunteering and education programme that works with schools across Africa to support teachers to raise aspirations in their learners by providing the best possible education.

The African Women Playwrights Network

The Network is a research platform that takes the form of a virtual community of female creative practitioners living in Africa or from the African diaspora.

Visiting professor at Stellenbosch University

By seeking out the similarities and differences with other liberation movements Wahidin hopes her research will inform policy and practice around peacebuilding, restitution, and transitional justice to create an environment where sustainable peace can grow and become embedded in the fabric of society.

The Africa Research Fellowship, hosted by IAS, provides a route for outstanding postdoctoral researchers to visit Warwick and establish connections with academics and departments. The Fellowship programme supports early career researchers in developing an application to an external funding body which could allow them to develop their academic career.

Africa Fellowship in water treatment

The Africa Fellowship is giving Professor Kolawole the opportunity to develop and strengthen teaching and research into water and wastewater treatment processes for the undergraduate and postgraduate students. It is an opportunity to explore novel materials and develop globally applicable commercialised products.
