What motivated you to work with the Monash Warwick Alliance?
The particle physics group at Warwick is a relatively new group in the field in the same way as at Monash. Working together give us opportunities to achieve the breadth within the filed that otherwise can take decades to achieve.
What are your top three collaboration achievements so far?
Starting up an international collaboration during the pandemic has been a real challenge. Biggest achievement has been to have three joint PhD students started that we jointly supervise. A new collaboration that combines experimental measurements, understanding of quantum chromodynamics and computational improvements is also something that we have done together that we would not have been able to do alone.
What do you hope to ultimately achieve through your collaboration?
A permanent collaboration that will make both groups stronger and a natural collaboration partner for the future.
Can you share one fun fact about yourself or your work?
My speciality in particle physics is an area called "penguin decays". For this reason the penguin logo of my bag follows me in all social media. Sometimes I get recognised at conferences from my shoulder bag and its my twitter profile picture: https://twitter.com/UlrikEgede
