Always Connected

Always Connected

It's never been more important to stay in touch with each other.

That's why we've started this new idea. We want to make videos showing each other how we're communicating and keeping in touch. We think it will help us share good ideas - and it will also help us to keep seeing other people who we would usually bump into on-campus.

Next week's questions:

How have you been coping this week? What are your challenges/successes? What are you doing to keep busy? We would love to hear from you! Be sure to Vlog about your week and keep us in the loop of what's going on by submitting a video diary.

Here's Episode four of our video series:

You can watch our previous episodes here.

Connect with us

You can make videos on your phone, or you can record meetings on Teams. You can also record a screen through PowerPoint (start a blank presentation, go to Insert, and choose Screen Recording)

We are looking for videos of the following:

  • Your own working-at-home environment
  • Your daily walk, making lunch, or something fun
  • Your team waving hello to everyone, any laughter, chatting and general positive communication
  • Anything you'd like to share

Whether or not you show your face is entirely up to you – it’s simply all about sharing our experiences and strengthening our community. Make it funny, make it wholesome, make it informative with tips and advice – whatever you’d like to share, we want to see it.

Tips for making your video

We’re not looking for cinematic masterpieces – in fact, this series is embracing the “homemade” feel and candid nature that your unique story can provide. However, there are a few small things you can do when filming which will go a long way.

  • Film with as much natural light as you can
  • Film somewhere with little background noise if you’re talking
  • Shoot landscape (holding your phone sideways)

Get permission

Make sure you've checked with everyone involved that they are happy to be recorded. We would also enjoy meeting your families on-screen, but remember that the videos could be shared with anyone. Please only record or photograph other people (including your colleagues) if:

  • They know that they may feature in a video on insite and e-newsletters
  • It is their genuine free choice to take part
  • And they know that they can change their mind

If someone does change their mind about being featured, please let us know as soon as possible.

Send in your recordings

It's easy to send in your recordings:

  1. Upload your video(s) to Files at Warwick
  2. Send them with a short description to us at internalcomms at warwick dot ac dot uk.

We will be in touch to confirm that we've received your video. We will then edit the videos into one long one every week to be featured on Insite and e-newsletters.

We think it could be a nice, positive end to our working weeks - so please do help us get started by sending in your video.
