The Law School invites you to the following Inaugural Lecture on Monday 19th February 2018, 5:30pm – 6:30pm, Oculus OC0.04, University of Warwick.

‘The Future of International Commercial Law in a Digital World’

Christian Twigg-Flesner, Law School University of Warwick

The rapid development of digital technology has had a significant impact in many areas. Established business models have come under pressure from new ones which take full advantage of the digital environment, not least its global reach, vast capacity, connectivity, and speed. The effects of the digital world are also increasingly felt in many areas of the law. In this lecture, Professor Twigg-Flesner will explore the implications of digital technology for the future development of International Commercial Law. He will consider, in particular, whether the global reach of the digital economy will require the development of new legal rules at the international level and the extent to which current approaches towards making International Commercial Law will need to change.

A drinks reception will follow this event from 5:30pm.
