WIHEA Workshop: Exploring our teaching - small scale practitioner inquiryThis workshop offers interested in reflecting on teaching and learning (both practitioners and professional services staff supporting learning) the opportunity to take stock, think out loud and identify some manageable goals for the new academic year in a supportive environment. Over the last 18 months, members of the WIHEA Pedagogic Research in Higher Education Learning Circle have developed a collaborative method that HE staff with multiple and complicated demands on their time can adopt to engage in inquiry into teaching and learning, benefitting their own well-being as well as student experience. They have called this approach Exploratory Pedagogic Enquiry (EPI). The workshop will give you the chance to try out exercises to help you pinpoint questions you'd like to take forward (for instance: framing a teaching-related research question, or solving a practical teaching problem). |

Presentation Skills for ResearchersMicrosoft TeamsA free online event that sets out to help early career researchers prepare for their academic future. We are excited to announce that jobs.ac.uk is working in partnership with Vitae to bring you a webinar on 'Presentation Skills for Researchers'. Many Early Career Researchers have mastered online delivery of teaching and learning but have not yet had the opportunity to present themselves and their work in a face-to-face setting. Conversely, some researchers have taught, given presentations or attended conferences face-to-face in the past, but now have to adapt to remote and online formats. As researchers will likely face a blend of environments in the future, this webinar will help you to prepare for presenting and building your network in a range of scenarios. Drawing from her 10 years of personal experience in delivering training and lecturing online, and face-to-face, Dr. Mhairi Towler will share her top tips for presenting under these different circumstances. As well as, answering any questions you may in a live Q & A session.
