Careers Workshop: Preparing to Work Abroad

Tuesday 3 March, 6.30pm - 8pm, R1.13 Ramphal Building

Have you thought about working in China? Do you aim to work in a multinational company or a NGO? Are you attracted by the idea of working in a different country but unsure of what skills you need?

The workshop will help you:

  • Understand the personal challenge of achieving work targets in an unfamiliar cultural context.
  • Understand what characterises Chinese values at work, and the skills required to adapt to a Chinese context.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take part in a session run by professional intercultural trainer, Nigel Ewington. Nigel spends much of his time working with companies and organisations overseas, assisting them in understanding and improving their intercultural skills. By the end of the session you will have been introduced to skills that will equip you to work in a different cultural setting, whether you aim to work in a multinational or a NGO.
*Please note that the content of this workshop is not relevant to Chinese nationals
