Nigel Chapman: Director of the BBC World Service - 'The World as I see it'

The Coventry Conversations at the University continue to attract the biggest media names; latest is Nigel Chapman Director/Head of the BBC World Service who is coming to converse on Thursday February 28th.

Nigel’s ’empire’ encompasses the best known and most trusted arm of the BBC worldwide. For seventy five years the World Service of the BBC has been broadcasting through thick and thin, war and peace to audiences far and wide in countries which sometimes did not welcome their message. Telling the unvarnished truth has made the World Service and the BBC the most trusted broadcaster in the globe. Even today, those living under repressive regimes in countries like Burma can turn to BBC World-Radio and TV for objective reporting. Nigel Chapman will tell us how it has all been achieved.

John Mair, Organizer of the Covnersations says ’It is a huge privilege to host Nigel at the Conversations. He is very senior in the Corporation and a very significant player worldwide. We are honoured that he is taking time out from his very busy international schedule to come to Coventry. All with an interest in international affairs are welcome’
