Images of War Symposium

Saturday 12 May, 10:30-18:30. Arts Centre Cinema and Conference Room.

This international one day symposium, entitled 'Images of War: Media Representations of the Falklands/Malvinas Conflict', brings together Argentine and British film directors and media critics to discuss representations of the Falklands/Malvinas War. There will be screenings of Argentine and UK films on the day. The symposium will conclude with readings from actress Julie Christie and the RSC's Keith Osborn and will include war testimonies and poetry.

Speakers include: Jim Aulich, Guido Indij, John King, Bernard McGuirk, Derek Paget, Graciela Speranza, Lita Stantic & Stuart Urban.

Shane Meadows film This is England is being screened in the Cinema at 4pm and 8.30pm on 12 May, and throughout the week. Delegates to the conference can obtain a concession on tickets to this film.

Tickets for the Symposium are available from the Arts Centre Box Office. Cost to attend is £7.50/£5.00 (concessions).
