28 of our current WLS students have collectively won the Warwick Award for Public and Community Engagement (WAPCE) in the Student Social Mobility Champion category! These awards celebrate the best of Widening Participation and School Outreach.

The School Tasking competition – which was created by Warwick Law School's Dr Ali Struthers in 2022 and draws inspiration from the hit Channel 4 TV show – introduces Year 5 pupils to the world of law through imaginative tasks and team challenges.

Warwick Law School students have won the LawWorks and Attorney General Student Pro Bono Award for 'Best Contribution by a Team of Students'. The awards, run by LawWorks with the support of the Attorney General, recognise and celebrate the outstanding pro bono work undertaken by law schools and law students across the UK. The Warwick team, represented by Law students Ella Cowell, Kieran Balendran, Clare Mellor, and Tani Ilemobola, received their award from the Attorney General, the Rt Hon Lord Hermer KC, in the Cholmondeley Rooms of the House of Lords on Wednesday 23 April.

We are thrilled to announce that Dr Ali Struthers has been shortlisted for the SLSA Annual Impact Prize 2025 for her work in leading the hugely successful legal outreach project, School Tasking.

The University of Warwick has been named a finalist for a prestigious award. Dr Ali Struthers’ School Tasking scheme has been shortlisted for ‘Widening Participation or Outreach Initiative of the Year’ at the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards.

Schools across the country came together at The University of Warwick this week for the first-ever national School Tasking final, hosted by Taskmaster’s Alex Horne, in front of over 800 year-five children.

The University of Warwick awarded an Honorary Doctorate to renowned comedian Alex Horne for his contributions to widening participation. Alex, of Taskmaster fame, played a key role in the success of the University’s ‘School Tasking’ project.
