PhD thesis prize of the IOP Computational Physics Group for Andrew Goldsborough
Each year, the Computational Physics Group awards a Thesis Prize to the author of the PhD thesis that, in the opinion of the Committee, contributes most strongly to the advancement of computational physics. This year, a Warwick graduate was chosen as runner-up.
WATE PGR 2016 Winners and Commendees
We are very pleased to congratulate Greg Brown for winning the WATE PGR, and Tobias Eriksson and Rachel Procter for being commendees.

Juno Champion Renewal
We are pleased to announce that our Juno Champion status has been successfully renewed by the Institute of Physics. The award is in recognition for the department's efforts to promote gender equality amongst both staff and students, and for good working practices.
Schools Physicist of the Year Awards 2016
Coventry and Warwickshire schools were all invited to nominate their best year 11 and year 12 Physics student and on Monday 6th June they came to the University and were awarded a prize by Professor David Leadley (sponsored by The Ogden Trust).
They saw demonstrations, met physicists and had a talk from Dr Rachel Edwards.
Faculty Thesis Prizes
Congratulations to David Chapman, Tom Machon and Davide Michieletto who have been awarded 2016 Faculty of Science PhD Thesis Prizes for their exceptional research on Probing the dynamic response of dense matter with x-ray Thomson scattering, Aspects of Geometry and Topology in Liquid Crystalline Phases, and Topological Interactions in Ring Polymers, respectively.

Prof Don Pollacco receives Wolfson Merit Award
The Royal Society has recently awarded Prof Don Pollacco with a Wolfson Merit Award in recognition of his outstanding scientific achievements. The award will help support his research program on the discovery and characterisation of exoplanets (planets around other stars) for the next 5 years...
Physics Hat Trick at Warwick Staff Awards
Congratulations to Ally Caldecote, Rashida Mohamed, Don Pollacco and Pam Thomas who were named as overall winners in three categories at the Warwick Staff Awards. The winners were announced at a celebratory gala dinner on Friday 11th March.
