Covid-19 guidance: update 22 February

Following the recent government update on changes to Covid-19 self-isolation guidance, we are sharing an update about what this means at Warwick.

Self-isolation

The government has announced they will be removing the legal requirement to isolate from Thursday 24 February 2022. At Warwick, we will continue to strongly recommend that staff and students self-isolate if you have symptoms of Covid-19 or test positive. This will be in place until the end of term 2.

What to do if you test positive

If you have a positive test at our Test and Trace facility on campus, we will inform your line manager that you are positive and when you are able to return to campus (if you are no longer unwell). You also need to record your coronavirus absence in SuccessFactorsLink opens in a new window.

If you test positive off campus (on a PCR or lateral flow test), please let us knowLink opens in a new window so that we can inform your line manager. Please ensure you record your coronavirus absence in SuccessFactorsLink opens in a new window.

We advise letting your line manager know yourself too as soon as possible.

We all need to do our bit and look out for those around us by continuing to do twice-weekly lateral flow tests (even if you’re vaccinated) to help reduce transmission of the virus.

It’s also important to keep following guidance around face coverings. As a reminder, face coverings are required at all times in teaching and research spaces, and when moving around multiple-occupancy offices. See the full guidanceLink opens in a new window.

Risk assessments for Term 2 will remain in place until the end of term, recognising there may be some minor adjustments to wording needed to reflect the change in legal requirements.

We’re taking a cautious approach and continuing with these safety measures until the end of term 2 so that staff, students and the rest of our community can have a safe and enjoyable experience on campus. We really appreciate your continued support.
