New Director of Transport and Future Mobility
A warm welcome to Parvez Islam, who has taken on the responsibility of implementing our strategic and sustainable travel plan, starting his journey with us in October 2019.
He will focus on the long-term strategic infrastructure opportunities of road and rail improvements as well as the more immediate transport requirements on the campus.
About Parvez
Before joining us, Parvez has previously been responsible for transport and parking at London Luton Airport. He already has experience in developing and implementing innovative, sustainable transport solutions and has catered for the growth of the airport, ensuring it remained commercially viable. He has improved the journey of many customers and hopes to implement this knowledge and improve this journey for all visitors travelling to campus.
Parvez said:
"I am keen to develop a sustainable transport strategy that is inclusive of everyone. I am keen to engage and collaborate with everyone who has link to the campus in order to drive things forward for the future."
The Keep Campus Moving team will continue to report to Parvez as they will work together to oversee the campus logistics planning, wayfinding, cycling, public transport and the car parking policy. He will also continue to plan in conjunction with other functions within Estates and other University departments, such as Commercial, Communications, Security and WMG.
