Graduation 2019: 16-24 July

1

The big day arrives... Degree congregation is a celebration of our students' successes and achievements. Thousands of students will graduate and join a much larger Warwick community of alumni living and working in almost every country in the world.

Our summer ceremonies will take place between on weekdays Tuesday 16 - Wednesday 24 July 2019, with two ceremonies each day in the Butterworth Hall (11am and 3pm).

We'll also be celebrating the recipients of honorary degrees and the winners of the Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE), Warwick Awards for Personal Tutoring Excellence (WAPTE) and Outstanding Student Contribution Awards (OSCAs). These awards will be presented during the degree ceremonies.

Travel

As in previous years, we've arranged to reduce the amount of congestion on campus by running a park and ride scheme from Stoneleigh for graduands and their guests. The coaches will drop off and pick up on campus in the dedicated Coach Park, next to the Bluebell residences.

While these measures will greatly reduce the impact of graduation on campus life over the course of the ceremonies, please do be ready for a busier campus at this time. If you approach campus from the A45 direction and have a staff parking permit, Lynchgate Car Park and Kirby Corner car park will be good options, similarly there is parking capacity on Westwood for permit holders and Pay and Display users. Both of these options avoid driving around onto Gibbet Hill Road.

You may need to allow extra time for your journey, and we'd advise considering alternatives to parking on campus such as taking the bus, walking or cycling if these are an option for you during graduation. Don't forget, you can take advantage of our Unicycles to get around campus too, or use our free campus shuttlebus.

Space in the car park adjacent to the old Sports Centre (car park 8a) will be reserved for specific guests throughout graduation.

The shared space section of University Road between the Piazza and the Arts Centre remains closed during Graduation weeks, as shown on our map. The campus Bus Interchange will operate as usual, and shuttlebus stops are not affected.

All car parks on Central Campus will remain accessible via the Scarman roundabout, but expect them to be busy.
