In memory of Gail Tomlinson‑Short
Colleagues, friends and students will be deeply saddened to hear of the death of Gail Tomlinson-Short, from Warwick Conferences.
Paul Bartlett, Director of Warwick Conferences, said:
"Gail dedicated 30 years of outstanding service to Warwick Conferences and played an instrumental role in the growth and development of the organisation. She embodied the very best of our community and was so incredibly proud to work for Warwick Conferences and the University.
Her professionalism, vision and unwavering commitment helped shape Warwick Conferences into the respected organisation it is today. Throughout her career, Gail demonstrated exceptional leadership, determination and passion for the industry. She was deeply respected by colleagues, clients and partners alike for her integrity, warmth and generous spirit. Her ability to inspire those around her, combined with her steadfast support for her team, leaves a lasting legacy.
Gail faced a life‑changing diagnosis in 2024, despite this, she showed remarkable strength and continued to approach each day with positivity and determination. Her commitment to supporting others never faded, including organising a charity walk that raised vital funds for The Brain Tumour Charity and The Shakespeare Hospice.
Her contribution to Warwick will not be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with her.
Our thoughts are with Gail’s family, friends and loved ones at this difficult time."
