In memory of Dr Stefan Adams

We are deeply saddened by the death of Dr Stefan Adams, Reader in Warwick Mathematics Institute, on 8 May 2024.

Professor James Robinson, Head of Department, said:

“Stefan joined us at Warwick in 2007. He was a world-class researcher in probability, who enriched the academic life of the department by his readiness to collaborate, the workshops he organised, and the visitors he attracted.

Stefan was a well-liked and valued member of the Mathematics Institute: a kind and helpful colleague, a popular lecturer, and an attentive tutor. He was a dedicated PhD supervisor, passing on his passion for the subject to the next generation. He will be much missed by staff and students alike.”

For those wishing to pay their respects, there is a Book of Condolence in the Common Room of the Mathematics Institute in the Zeeman Building, which will be given to Stefan's family on 7 June 2024.
