Community message – situation in Israel and Palestine
We know the ongoing situation in Israel and Palestine is extremely distressing for many members of our community, and our thoughts are with those of you who have family and friends in the region, and who have been directly impacted by events.
Please contact support services at Warwick if you've been affected in any way: you can contact the Employee Assistance Programme and the multi-faith Chaplaincy for support, and you can find 24/7 support online via Togetherall, and contact Campus Security for emergency help. Students can also contact wellbeing support services and their personal tutor for support.
Warwick's core values of dignity and respect, and the right of every member of our community to feel safe and supported, are even more important at times like this. Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and all forms of racism, hate speech and harassment are unacceptable and abhorrent, and will be met with firm sanctions within our student and staff community.
In the sad event that you are subject to, or witness any kind of abuse, we strongly encourage you to contact Report and Support (available online and via the Mywarwick app) so that we can take action and provide support. You can also access Report and Support by contacting personal tutors, wellbeing support staff, resident tutors, campus security staff or SU staff.
Everyone has the right to feel safe and supported at Warwick, and free and open debate, and the right to peaceful, respectful, protest, are critical to learning, exchanging knowledge and challenging assumptions. At the same time, we have a zero-tolerance policy to any form of discrimination and we encourage all members of our community to treat one another with respect, whatever their background, beliefs or situation.
