Lecture Capture: Update

IT Services are expanding their new lecture capture service following a successful pilot with the Department of Chemistry in 2013.

We've now recorded over 400 lectures since October 2013, which have been viewed 14,000 times by students.

The new service offers two different ways of recording material:

Personal Capture

Any member of staff can access this service now. All you need is a PC or laptop with a microphone or a webcam and you can record presentations yourself. This is a great way to provide students with extra content to go along with modules, producing videos that you can easily embed into SiteBuilder and Moodle.

Automated Capture

Automated capture is installed in all Centrally Timetabled lecture theatres, and, at the request of a department, we can set the system up to record a whole series of lectures as they happen, automatically making them available to students online afterwards.

Automated Capture is now being used by: Chemistry, Life Sciences, WBS, Economics, English, French, History, Politics, Physics, Philosophy, Sociology, WMG and Warwick Medical School.
