New roles for key administrative staff

The University has announced a number of new roles and new appointments for key administrative staff at Warwick.

”HelenDirector of University Marketing

Helen Pennack is to take up the new role of Director of University Marketing on 4 February 2013. Over the past five years, Helen has built up a broad ranging coherent marketing team at the University of Leicester, where she is currently Head of Marketing Communications. Helen is currently co-chair of the Communications Track for the CASE Europe Annual Conference. She sits on the Advisory Board of 360 Education and is a member of the Universities Marketing Forum.

Director of Delivery Assurance

Yvonne Salter Wright is to take up the role of Director of Delivery Assurance in early 2013. Yvonne will work with the Registrar and the wider Senior Officer team to lead on policy development in a number of areas including Child Protection and Criminal Records. She will have oversight of arrangements for institutional level complaints ensuring that we are able to respond quickly to and learn from issues that arise in such processes. Yvonne will also provide support to lay volunteers to the University as well as playing a key role in civic events.

Adrian HallIGGY

IGGY, the University’s online network for gifted students, is expanding and has appointed Adrian Hall as its Managing Director. Janey Walker becomes Director of Partnerships and will focus on building new relationships with funders and content partners. Adrian was formerly a senior policy advisor on educational software to the Department of Education, where his responsibilities included developing the Government’s policy in relation to the educational software industry, commissioning new and innovative curriculum software, and developing thinking on the use of games in education. He has also worked for a number of innovative educational software companies including Little Bridge World and Okapi Consultancy, and has a respected profile in the use of mobile, game and social media technologies for learning. Adrian has been working with IGGY as Content and e-Learning Advisor since May 2012.

Deputy Registrar

As reported previously, Jo Horsburgh will take up the role of Deputy Registrar from early 2013. Further details on Jo’s responsibilities as Deputy Registrar will be given in the New Year.

Campus and Commercial Services Group

As reported earlier the new Campus and Commercial Services Group is now overseen by an executive, chaired by the Registrar. Senior leadership will be provided by Jonathan Bailey (Operations), Mike Roberts (Campus Services, including his previous responsibility for IT Services) and a third to be appointed director with responsibility for Business Development.
