 Warwick Wonders

The Warwick Wonders Award celebrates the people we are proud to work with at our University. It recognises colleagues who have gone above and beyond to make a positive difference and enrich our community.

Claire Carey - Warwick Nursery

Claire Carey, Senior Early Years Educator, has won the Warwick Wonder Award, recognising how she is a ‘constant source of energy’ for the people around her. She always goes above and beyond in her role to address the children’s individual needs, especially those with Special Educational Needs and those with English as a second language.

When Claire found out she won the award, she said:

"I am very honoured to be given the award, I am very grateful for the acknowledgement and recognition that receiving the award has given me. I have an amazing team which enables us to support children and families we care for. I am so proud of myself and the Nursery team and that we are able to celebrate the great work we do. "

After hearing about Claire's win, our Vice-Chancellor Stuart Croft said:

"Claire gives so much energy, commitment and love to the children – she really goes the extra mile to help them feel at home in the Nursery.”

Warwick Wows

The Warwick Wows celebrate amazing work, projects, and achievements at the University.

Warwick Presents

The Warwick Presents team won the Warwick Wow award in recognition for their brilliant student events, including Holi, Lunar New Year and Thanksgiving Lunch.

The team listen to students to ensure Warwick hosts celebrations that embrace different cultures and remind people of home.

The nomination highlighted a particular team member, Poonam Pedley, who focuses on creating cultural events that are authentic and inclusive for our diverse community.

After accepting her team's award, Poonam said:

"What a lovely surprise this was! The whole team are so passionate about wanting students from all backgrounds to feel welcome and included, helping students to establish connections with each other and to feel part of the Warwick community. I definitely want to share that it's the dedication of our whole team which allows us to achieve so much together. It's so nice to see our work recognised in this way."

Stuart Croft, our Vice-Chancellor, had this to say about their win:

“The Warwick Presents team put on fantastic events for students, from Welcome Week to the series of festivals we have throughout the year. These events help people connect with their home and with our community – well done!"

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination. We'll open up nominations again during Term 2! In the meantime, be sure to get thinking about who you might put forward to be a Wonder or a Wow...
