Social media at Warwick: resources available

3

A number of social media resources are now available on Insite, including a social media framework and a policy for official University social media accounts.

The social media framework is designed to offer guidance about what successful social media usage might look like and, while aimed primarily at anyone using social media for work purposes, is relevant to anyone who uses social media.

It offers an overview of some popular forms of social media, a set of social media guidelines to work within and advice on responding to incoming comments. Running alongside the framework is the social media policy for official University accounts – which are defined as any account representing a department/faculty/team/service or similar in an official corporate context.

Any existing official accounts must follow this policy. Any new official accounts must first be approved by University Marketing – to request a new account official social media account, fill in the online briefing form.

Digital Network

Anyone involved with social media on campus might also like to join the digital network. The group meets termly and has guest speakers, networking opportunities and plenty of cake. To be added to the network’s mailing list, contact Dave Musson.
