Directors of the new Warwick Institute of Engagement
Congratulations to Jane Furze and Professor Michael Scott who have been appointed as co-Directors of the new Warwick Institute of Engagement.
The Warwick Institute of Engagement brings together Warwick’s extensive practical engagement expertise with pioneering academic research. Evidence-led best practice will be at the core of the Institute’s thinking – ensuring Warwick’s engagement with the public drives real impact for the communities we serve. Jane and Michael will work with a dedicated team of professional support staff, academics, and a cohort of engagement fellows that we are recruiting now. They will work across Warwick’s staff and student communities, and collaborate extensively with external partners.
Alongside her role in creating WIE, Jane is Director of Regional Strategy and leads the University’s marketing and communications strategy. She sits on a number of national public engagement forums including the Royal Society Public Engagement committee.
Alongside his role in creating WIE, Michael is a Professor in the Department of Classics and Ancient History. He is a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of Advance HE and Director and Trustee of Classics for All. He facilitates engagement with the ancient world via social media, TV, radio, podcasts, books and talks.
