Winners of HRC Doctoral Fellowship Competition Announced
The Humanities Research Centre (HRC) have announced the winners of their 2011 Doctoral Fellowship Competition. The winners of the competition are each given a research budget of £400 and a conference budget of £600, and are invited to organise a one-day interdisciplinary conference during the following academic year.
Professor David Haddleton Receives Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award
Professor David Haddleton, Department of Chemistry, has been awarded a Wolfson Research Merit Award by the Royal Society, the UK's national academy of science.
Reverend Stuart Jennings awarded Alan Ball Local History Award
Reverend Stuart Jennings, Chaplaincy, has been awarded an Alan Ball Local History Award. The award comes in honour of his book "These Uncertaine Tymes: Newark and the Civilian Experience of the Civil Wars 1640-1660".
James Cooper
The University is saddened to hear of the death of James Cooper who was killed whilst on holiday in Florida. James was a tennis coach, who had coached at the University’s Tennis Centre, and was a full time member of the inspire2coach team.
Dr Justine Mercer Awarded BERA Meeting of Minds Fellowship
Dr Justine Mercer, Institute of Education, has been awarded a BERA (British Educational Research Association) Meeting of Minds Fellowship to work with Professor Howard Stevenson of Lincoln University on a piece of small-scale research investigating industrial relations in Higher Education.
