Ciaran Singh and Surojit Chakraverti win Brightest Business Brain Prizes
Ciaran Singh, Economics (studying PPE) and Surojit Chakraverti, Warwick Business School have received the first and second prizes respectively at the Brightest Business Brain competition. Ciaran will receive a prize of £1,000 for first place and Surojit will receive £500 for second place.
Registrar contributes to Public Accounts Committee
Registrar Jon Baldwin attended a government Public Accounts Committee meeting on 30 March in order to give evidence on the financial sustainability of the UK higher education sector and the role of the Funding Council, HEFCE, in assuring this. He was invited to attend the event to represent the Russell Group of Universities, of which Warwick is a member.
Professor Mark Smith, John Hanna and Claudia Ionescu Awarded 2010 SAGE Best Paper Award
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Mark Smith and John Hanna, Department of Physics and Claudia Ionescu, Department of Physics have been awarded the 2010 SAGE Best Paper Award by the Editor and Editorial Board of the Journal of Engineering in Medicine.
Dr Rosemary Collier awarded Marsh Horticultural Research Award
Dr Rosemary Collier, School of Life Sciences, was recently awarded the Marsh Horticultural Research Award 2010.
Jia Ashton
The University is saddened to report the death of Warwick alumna Jia Ashton. Jia studied Economics at the University between 2004 and 2007.
