Wilson Harris Receives Knighthood
The Yesu Persaud Centre for Caribbean Studies is pleased to announce that one of its first Associate Fellows, the Guyanese novelist Wilson Harris, has been knighted by the Queen for services to Literature.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Whitby is to leave Warwick to take up the role of "Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Head of The College of Arts and Law" at the University of Birmingham.
Professor Mark Smith
Following on from the announcement of Professor Mark Smith’s appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the University is pleased to confirm that Professor Smith took up his new role on 1 May 2010.
Matthew Pollard
The University will be saddened to hear of the death of first year Engineering student Matthew (Matt) Pollard who died at the weekend in Cornwall. Matt became enthused about studying engineering on part because of his work as a guide at the BT Goonhilly Earth Station and what he described as the many great structures he saw there. This made him consider the skill and work that went into them and how they were created.
Dr. Rachel O'Reilly Speaks at RSC Symposium
Dr. Rachel O'Reilly spoke at the recent Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) symposium, "Contemporary Inorganic Chemistry: Applications and Challenges", along with this year’s two winners of the Dalton Division Awards.
