Stuart Jennings: "These Uncertaine Tymes"
One of the University's Chaplains, Reverend Dr. Stuart Jennings has attracted the interest of critics and academics alike with the publication of his book "These Uncertaine Tymes: Newark and the Civilian Experience of the Civil Wars 1640-1660".
Tom Collyer: Sudoku Champion
Tom Collyer, a PhD student from the Mathematics Institute, has won the Times National Su Doku Championship for the second time - making him one of only two people ever to win the Championship more than once. Ranked as number 26 in the world, Tom arranged 324 numbers into 4 Su Doku grids in just 17 minutes to take first place.
Meet the Sabbs - 2008-2009
The Students' Union Sabbatical Officers, the 'Sabbs', for the year 2009-2010 took up their new roles on August 1st and are now making preparations for the year ahead. Earlier in 2009 they were elected by the student body to run and develop the University of Warwick Students' Union and associated activities. Here, we introduce them to the whole University.
Richard Harris
It is with great sadness that the University announces the passing of Richard Harris, a Warwick alumnus, at the age of 61 this July. He studied Philosophy and Politics at the University from 1966 to 1969, before moving to London to pursue a career in higher education. At the time of his death, he was the Dean of Quality Assurance at the University of Bedfordshire.
Warwick Farewell - John Burrows
John Burrows, Deputy Security Manager at University House, is to retire on Friday 28 August, after 13 years at the University.
John joined the University after 30 years in the police force, working initially in the traffic section of the security team. He then moved into a supervisor role before becoming Facilities Manager at Senate House (now Coventry House), and then Deputy Security Manager at University House.
