Professor Paul Smith - Getty Scholar Research Grant
Professor Paul Smith, from the History of Art department, has been awarded a Getty Scholar Research Grant by the Getty Research Institute. From September 2007 until June 2008 Paul will be one of twelve internationally-renowned scholars working on the research theme of Change.
Teaching Excellence Winners Announced
The winners of the Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence have been announced.
As well as receiving an award at the degree congregation, winners will also receive £5,000 to support the continued development of excellence in teaching and learning.
Finalists who received a commendation for their submission will receive £2,000.

Sir Shridath Ramphal

Sir Shridath Ramphal, the University's former Chancellor (1989-2002) has received South Africa's highest award, the Order of the Supreme Companion of O.R. Tambo (Gold) for his outstanding contribution against racial oppression in South Africa, establishing a fairer and better world and for human rights in the international community.
Professor Peter Topping - Leverhulme Trust

Professor Peter Topping of the Warwick Mathematics Institute, has been awarded £732,418 by the Leverhulme Trust to fund postdoctoral fellowships and PhD studentships in geometric analysis and flows over the next 5-6 years.
