In Memoriam: Janet Gardner
We regret to announce the recent death of Janet Gardner, an ex-member of Library staff who took early retirement in 2009. Janet had been with the University since 1979 and was well-known and liked across the University. There will be a thanksgiving service to celebrate Janet's life on Friday 27 September at 2.30 pm at St. Mary Magdalene's Church, Vicarage Road, Lillington, Leamington Spa.
In Memoriam: Adrian Rowe-Evans
Adrian Rowe-Evans was Secretary and Registrar at Warwick for ten years. He lead an interesting life including fighting in the second World War, flying a Spitfire, travelling to Canada, Ceylon, South East Asia and living in Hong Kong. He died on 7 August 2013 at the age of 90.
In Memoriam: Edith Alves
One of our longest serving staff, Edith Alves, died recently – having worked well beyond the normal retirement age. The funeral will be at 9.15am on Friday 21 June 2013 at the Charter Chapel, Canley Crematorium. Edith’s family have indicated that they would be pleased to see any of Edith’s former colleagues at the funeral.
In Memoriam: Denley Wright
It has been announced that Professor Denley Wright CBE died on 4 April 2013. Professor Wright was Director of the National Vegetable Research Station (NVRS) at Wellesbourne, now Warwick Crop Centre, from 1967-1977.
