China's population has fallen for the first time in 60 years, with the national birth rate hitting a record low - 6.77 births per 1,000 people. Here's what our expert has to say.
Dr Thijs Van Rens, Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick, said, “Fast wage growth does not mean much if inflation is even higher. What matters for the cost of living are real wages, which are still going down.
“Real wage growth has been stagnant in the UK for quite a long time and it does not seem to be changing now.”
