Warwick Medical School Helps Tackle Obesity with Channel 4

The Warwick Medical School, in partnership with the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, is providing scientific advice and equipment for a Channel 4 documentary series aimed at helping people with obesity-related health problems in the UK.

The Darwin Seminars

The Department of Biological Sciences is hosting a series of seminars on the work of Charles Darwin to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of his birth, and the 150th Anniversary of the publication of "On the Origin of Species". The series includes 10 seminars all of which are free of charge and open to members of the public.

Effects of Climate Change: One-Third of Coral Reefs ‘Beyond Recovery’

Coral reefs are still at risk from the effects of global warming despite having conservation zones designed to protect them, and at least one-third of the world’s coral reefs are now beyond recovery. An international team of researchers, including scientists at Warwick University, have warned that urgent action is needed to prevent the total collapse of these fragile ecosystems.
