The Warwick Economics Department is delighted to announce that three of our PhD students have been awarded One-Year Junior Fellowships from the Royal Economic Society. Rocco D’Este, Spyridon Terovitis and Giulio Trigilia will all receive the award for the academic year 2014-2015.
Worth £9,500 per student, just 10 awards are made each year by the RES following nominations from Heads of Economics Departments in the UK. Nominees must have completed at least two years of a doctoral thesis. Successful students will attend the RES Conference and are also invited to submit a research paper to the RES Conference Programme Chair for possible inclusion in a conference session. Those awarded Fellowships submit a report to the Secretary-General of the Society at the end of the academic year.
This year, the Royal Economic Society received a record number of applications which adds further testament to the quality of the students who have been awarded these prestigious fellowships. The Department has a successful track record of students being accepted for fellowships but this is the most successful year to date.
