The world of the secret policeman
The truth about how real-life totalitarian secret police go about spying on citizens and shutting down dissent will be uncovered at the University of Warwick next month.
Professor Mark Harrison is giving a free public talk on Thursday 7 November, 1pm-2pm at Warwick Arts Centre.
Professor Harrison will bring modern social science together with historical evidence to show how the Soviet Union’s secret police, the KGB, worked to uphold the communist monopoly of power during the Cold War.
The event is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science. You can find more details here, if you would like to come along please email Jane Snape, Jane.snape@warwick.ac.uk
