FAQs
Improving research culture is a key priority for government and universities alike. It's imperative to share best practice on how to create inclusive research environments, which promotes creative, thriving research teams.
Beyond this, national and international methods of research assessment are changing to be more responsible (early decisions on Research Excellence Framework 2028 have revealed that 'Peopleand Culture' will be assigned a 25% weighting) and there is great interest in discussing what shape these might take and how institutions can keep up with these changes.
The IRCC will offer an unrivalled opportunity to come together with like-minded people to improve synergies and look for collective solutions, in order to curate robust and reproducible research culture knowledge for all.
The event is aimed at researchers (at all career stages) and research enablers in higher education institutions across the UK and internationally. It's also aimed at funding bodies, partner organisations (including industry, charities and the NHS) and current or prospective University of Warwick academics.
The conference will take place at The Slate, our lakeside conference centre on the University of Warwick campus. Based in the heart of the UK, the University campus is accessible by many major motorway and train routes. For our international visitors, Birmingham International Airport is just 20 minutes’ drive away. Rooms are also available on site, a short walk from where the conference will take place.
The University of Warwick is one of the UK's leading research-intensive universities. We’ve recently established the first National Centre for Research Culture, aiming to create networks for like-minded individuals to share knowledge and best practice across the sector, with the IRCC being a key part of this.
The International Research Culture Conference is organised with funds from Research England's Enhancing Research Culture Fund 2022-2023.
You can expect a mix of keynote speakers from institutions across the country and plenty of time for networking and discussion. Refreshments are available throughout the day and lunch is provided. View the event programme.
