International Research Culture Conference

The International Research Culture Conference 2025 (IRCC25) will take place on Wednesday 17th September at The Oculus Building, University of Warwick.
We invite all those working in and enabling research in the UK and beyond to share, collaborate and foster conversations about research culture.
IRCC25 will showcase innovative research culture initiatives and capture knowledge for lasting impact through the publication of a Research Culture Special Issue.

Imagining a Research Culture of 2030
We are working on building an exciting programme, to include:
- Keynote from Steven Hill, Director of Research at Research England: Frameworks for research cultures – learning from the UK’s pilot REF assessment
- Keynote from Prof Cat Davies, University of Leeds: Research Culture: What works.

Beyond Borders: Exploring Global Perspectives on Research Culture: An international speaker panel discussing research culture perspectives from across the globe, with research culture experts Prof Melissa Miles from Monash University Prof, Sibusiso Moyo from Stellenbosch University Prof, Grace Mulcahy from University College Dublin, and Steven Hill from Research England.
- Facilitated networking opportunities
- Research culture presentations, workshops and posters
- Interactive Words for Wellbeing exhibition - what it means to work in research

Thank you for all the fantastic feedback from IRCC24. Whilst it was very positive, there are several changes we have made to this year’s format including:
- More opportunities for networking: This year we will offer in-person delegates an opportunity to join a facilitated networking session to enable new connections and collaboration.
- More time for question and answers in presentation sessions: This year we will be building in more time for important discussion after parallel presentations.
- Quiet space: We have included a reflection space for participants to use at this year's event.
