About Us
Who are we?
The EMCR Project is a cross-disciplinary development programme created by academics and staff. This project aims to support early and mid-career researchers. It provides opportunities for scholars from all disciplines to share their research, strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue, and foster collaboration across fields.
What we offer?
We will offer a combination of online and in-person support designed to develop research and career skills. Our Moodle platform provides structured resources, guidance, and materials that participants can access flexibly at any time. Padlet is used as an interactive space for sharing ideas, resources, and peer discussion throughout the programme.
We will run in-person networking workshops that include short presentations from industry speakers sharing insights and experiences, alongside opportunities to connect with colleagues across disciplines, build collaborations, and exchange ideas.
Our aims?
Our aim is to create a supportive space where ECRs and MCRs can engage beyond disciplinary boundaries, share perspectives, and build meaningful academic connections. The project seeks to foster a more open, collaborative, and connected research environment.

In-Person Workshop
17th June 2026
Location: IMC, Boardroom 2
This workshop will bring together Warwick-based and external speakers to share their work and experiences of interdisciplinary collaboration. It will also include sessions for networking with Early and Mid-Career Researchers across disciplines. The session is designed to encourage connection, knowledge exchange, and new collaborations, and will include a catered-for lunch break.

FAQ
What defines an ECR and MCR?
Early Career Researchers are those from PhD level through to early stages of an independent research or innovation career, including academic, technical, and professional pathways, regardless of age or career route.
Mid-Career Researchers are those developing greater national and international recognition, gaining leadership and independence and typically progressing towards a Professorial level role, often working within the “squeezed middle” between early support and senior roles. This includes a range of disciplines and professions.

What to expect in the workshop
If you do not have access to the IMC Building, please proceed to the main reception upon arrival. Boardroom 2 is located on the right-hand side of the building. It can be reached by crossing the mezzanine that overlooks the central workshop.
This event will be catered. A significant portion of the programme will be dedicated to networking with fellow participants and speakers. The table layout has been designed to facilitate inter-group discussion and engagement.

We do not record the in-person workshop.

- collaborative tools (e.g. Padlet)
- direct communication with organisers
- participation in the workshop

- manage registration and attendance
- communicate with participants about the event

- accommodate accessibility and dietary requirements

Legal basis for processing
We process your data based on:
- performance of a contract (event registration and participation)

Who we share your data with

- workshop organisers (All are University staff)

How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as necessary for event administration. Data will be deleted after the workshop.
