From Access to Impact: The Civic University and Regional Opportunity for Young People
About the event
The University of Warwick invites you to ‘From Access to Impact: The Civic University and Regional Opportunity for Young People’, a timely event bringing together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, students, and community leaders to explore how universities can create meaningful opportunities for the next generation of young people in local and regional communities.
The event will feature a keynote address from Prof Chris Millward, Interim Director of Fair Access and Participation at the Office for Students and a leading voice on the role and value of civic universities. This will be followed by a series of engaging presentations sharing practical examples and research insights into the diverse ways universities facilitate opportunities for young people.
Following lunch, we will invite colleagues to share their experiences and perspectives on the role of universities within their local areas, with a particular focus on exploring opportunities for further development, collaboration and partnership. The day will conclude with a lively panel discussion examining the possibilities and challenges of universities’ civic roles, and their impact on the futures of young people and the places where they live.
This event is open to internal and external people.
