Why has this activity been useful for your development or career progression and how this will impact your current or future work?

I was able to meet with various scholars from different countries to discuss my research. During my presentation, I had the opportunity to be asked questions about my work from leading historians which were really insightful and though provoking. For instance, I was able to discern which areas of my work required further investigation and alternative paths that I could explore.

Did you identify any opportunities for future collaboration?

The conference held an Early Careers Workshop which gave ECRs the opportunity to network with one another and to ask senior academics questions. During this time I met several PhD students also working within my field of sexual and reproductive health and we would be keen to organise something together.

Listening to others was really exciting and inspiring, and hearing comments about my own work was so helpful. Attending an international conference really allowed me to feel established in my field."
