We have received funding from Research England to help create a community amongst RTProfs at Warwick and include those interested in this career pipeline. For clarity, RTProfs are defined by UKRI as the following:

 Research technicians and technology and skills specialists who have expert knowledge and technical competence in their field. They may include - but not limited to - data scientists, data engineers, archivists, informaticians, statisticians, software developers, audio-visual technologists, technical professional staff and individuals staffing and managing core research facilities, across all disciplines.

First, we will be creating localised RTProf networks/forums across the campus to foster the sharing of ideas, problem solving, opportunities and collaborations. There will be 4 groups set up across campus and the groups will meet in their respective locations:

1. Gibbet Hill - SLS and WMS (led by Sarah Bennett)
2. Stratford campus - Horticultural (led by Sally Mann)
3. Main campus - WMG (led by Tom Moore)
4. Main campus - Physics, Chemistry and Engineering (led by Chris Waldron)

At the end of the academic year (June), we will host an away day and bring all four groups together. This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet someone new, catch up with colleagues and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

For catering purposes, please register for lunch using the online form. We will be in contact with location details.

The second lunchtime gathering will be Wednesday 17th January 2024, 12pm till 1pm, and will again include FREE PIZZA! At the Stratford Campus, the event will take place on Tuesday 16th January 2024, 12.30pm till 1pm and also include a free lunch. The third lunchtime gathering will be Wednesday 20th March 2024, 12pm till 1pm, and will again include FREE PIZZA!
