Professor Ann Capling
Ann Capling is Professor of Political Science at the University of Melbourne and Director-designate of the Centre for Public Policy. Her main areas of expertise are trade policy, the multilateral trade system, and global economic governance.
Her recent books include All the Way with the USA: Australia, the US and Free Trade (University of New South Wales Press 2005), and Australia and the Global Trade System: From Havana to Seattle (Cambridge University Press 2001).
She has also written extensively on investment agreements, intellectual property rights, industry policy and ‘democratic deficit’ problems in trade policy making and global governance. She is currently undertaking a major research project on the new politics of trade policy in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on China, India, Mexico, Australia and Canada.
