External Examiner Payment Dates

COVID-19 Update

Due to the current Covid-19 situation we are facing in the UK, the University will only accept payment and expenses forms that are submitted digitally to externalexaminers@warwick.ac.uk. Payments and reimbursement of expenses (within 3 months of receipt) will still be processed but may take a little longer due to remote working. Payment and expenses claim forms can be found on the Fees and Expenses page.

Upcoming Payment Dates

The upcoming HR and Payroll cut-off date(s) for payment of External Examiner fees are:

*For postgraduate taught examiners, upon submission of your External Examiner Annual Report and a completed Postgraduate Taught Expenses and Fee Claim Form, you can expect payment to be processed within six working weeks from the date of submission of your report.

Please note, the above dates do not relate to the deadline for your External Examiner Annual Report. They are provided here as a guideline for when you can expect payment following submission of your report.

Payment requests being sent to Payroll/Finance will be dependent upon all details and documentation, such as Right to Work, VAM forms (UG and PGCE only) and bank details being in place. If any of these details/documents are missing, this will delay payment.


Payment of External Examiner fees cannot be made if your External Examiner Annual Report report has not yet been submitted.
