Religious Observance Form

Requests from individual students to amend the exam schedule to accommodate religious observance will be considered with due diligence. However, whilst every effort to accommodate requests will be made, the necessity to produce examinations timetables for large numbers of students across a range of modules - which are free from clashes - means such requests are, unfortunately, not normally possible. If it is not possible to meet your request within the central examinations schedule, you will be advised to contact your academic department to discuss the options available to you. You may wish to consider discussing this with your personal or senior tutor. We also recommend contacting the Dean of Students’ Office for advice and guidance on this topic.

Please list all the specific dates on which you are unavailable for examinations. Follow these mandatory requirements to avoid delays:

  • Include only the dates within the exam periods. Please double-check the exam dates Link opens in a new windowto ensure that the dates listed fall within the exam periods.
  • Use the mandatory format (DD/MM/YYYY) without any added information or explanations. List only the date itself. There will be a separate field to enter further information or explanations about the requested dates.
  • If the observance begins at sundown the previous day, list both the date of the observance and the date of the previous day.
  • The list of dates must cover the current academic year. There is no need to resubmit the form for each examination period.
