Stratford upon Avon

Stratford Upon Avon is 19 miles from the University. This country market town is the birthplace of William Shakespeare and is of course a very popular place with tourists. Stratford is steeped in history and has its own theatre, good shops and easy access to larger towns.

The Chiltern railway line runs from Stratford's train station to Marylebone in around an hour and 40 minutes. Stratford has two grammar schools one for boys one for girls, and generally a good reputation for education.

The house prices in the area are higher here than in the surrounding areas. For more information see www.stratford.gov.uk and www.stratford-upon-avon.co.uk
