Cancellation Terms 2023/2024

Accepting your offer of campus accommodation

New undergraduate students

Offers of accommodation are sent by email and you will need to accept your offer within the timeframe stated in your offer email. If you miss the deadline noted in your offer email we may not be able to make another offer of accommodation, so it’s important to regularly check your emails and spam/clutter/junk folders. In the event you miss the deadline stated in your offer email, you should contact accommodation@warwick.ac.uk immediately to see if we can reactivate your offer of accommodation.

Returning undergraduate and postgraduate students

Offers of accommodation are not sent by email as room bookings are self-selected during an instant booking process. You will need to accept your contract at the time of booking in order to secure your chosen room type.

We do not require a guarantor or a deposit payment in order to secure a room. You simply need to accept your accommodation contract.

I have accepted my offer of campus accommodation, what if I want to cancel my accommodation contract?

Once you have accepted your offer for campus accommodation by signing your accommodation contract, you will benefit from a five day cooling off period from the date of acceptance. This means that you can change your mind and cancel your accommodation during the five days that follow your acceptance of the accommodation.

If you wish to cancel during your cooling off period, you must email your request for cancellation to accommodation@warwick.ac.uk noting your seven digit Warwick I.D number and reason for cancellation. Please note that if you collect your room key and check in to your accommodation, your five day cooling-off period will immediately and automatically end.

If you do not cancel within your cooling off period, you remain liable for the rent for the whole length of the tenancy unless you find a suitable replacement student who is not already in a contract with Warwick Accommodation.

I have signed a campus accommodation contract, what happens if my student status changes?

In order to be eligible for campus accommodation students are required to have registered full-time student status. For example, if you have signed an accommodation contract and subsequently withdraw permanently, temporarily or withdraw to restart you would no longer be eligible for accommodation due to not having full-time registered student status. In such cases, you would be required to vacate your room and you would be released from your accommodation contract from the later of:

  • the date of your withdrawal, or
  • the date you vacate your accommodation and complete a departure form

If your student status changes and you no longer have full-time registered student status, you must contact us at accommodation@warwick.ac.uk.

A reminder of your legal obligations

Accepting your accommodation contract creates legally binding obligations between the University and you as the Student. It is therefore important that you read your contract, understand and agree to the terms contained within it before you make a commitment. Please remember that when you accept and enter into an accommodation contract, you are signing a legally binding document and are required to pay the accommodation charges for the length of the contract unless you cancel in line with our cancellation terms.
