How to connect to WiFi (eduroam)

Introduction

eduroam is a secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international education and research community. It allows students, researchers, and staff from participating institutions to obtain internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions, simply by opening their laptop.

How to connect to eduroam

Warwick staff and students must use their usercode followed by @warwick.ac.uk (e.g. u1234567@warwick.ac.uk) to log in to the eduroam service on campus or at another participating institution. Staff and students can also use eduroam in selected areas of Coventry Central Library and Leamington Spa Library.

Automated setup for eduroam WiFi

eduroam CAT is an official tool available from the eduroam website. This tool is useful if you have an existing connection to the internet and want to configure eduroam for use later. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the eduroam website: https://cat.eduroam.org/
  2. Click on the download your installer button, select University of Warwick (you may need to search for it), and then download and install the application.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions, using your University of Warwick user code followed by @warwick.ac.uk (e.g. u1234567@warwick.ac.uk) and your password.

Automated setup for eduroam WiFi on mobile devices

geteduroam is an official app to automatically configure eduroam on Android 8+ or Apple iOS devices. Follow these steps:

  1. Download and install geteduroam from the Play Store or the Apple App Store.
  2. Install and open the app.
  3. Select University of Warwick and click Next.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions, use your University of Warwick user code followed by @warwick.ac.uk (e.g. u1234567@warwick.ac.uk) and your password.
