How to connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network on Apple MacOS
Introduction
eduroam, short for "education roaming," is a secure, global Wi-Fi access service designed for the international research and education community. It enables students, researchers, and staff to obtain internet connectivity across campus and at other participating institutions worldwide, simply by using their home institution's login credentials.

How to connect to eduroam on macOS
These instructions were created on macOS Big Sur but apply to other versions of macOS, both older and newer.
Before proceeding with the manual setup guide on this page, you may wish to try the automated tool available at https://cat.eduroam.org/
Manual instructions
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on the menu bar and select the eduroam wireless network.
- Enter your University of Warwick usercode and password in the format usercode@warwick.ac.uk

Before connecting, click Show Certificate to review whether the security certificate is valid.
The certificate should be issued to eap.warwick.ac.uk and issued by GEANT EV RSA CA 4.
You should click cancel to abort the connection if the server certificate does not match.
- If it does match, press the blue Continue button and you will then be connected to the Wi-Fi.
- Please note: you may also be required to enter your macOS administrator password to update the settings on your Mac.
