How to register a new student user account

As an applicant to the University of Warwick, you will have been sent a unique 7-digit Warwick code (like 1234587). We recommend that you open an applicant account straight away, as this will enable you to access some services and track your application process. Once you are ready to join the university, it can also be used to convert to a full student user account. This will give you access to the full range of resources and services offered by the university.

Enrolment

When you enrol at the University of Warwick, our Student Records team automatically adds your details to our system. This initiates the process of converting your applicant account to a student account (or opening a new student account.) You will need to use your account to log in to most systems at Warwick; to access your email, to reserve books, connect to the wi-fi and use campus facilities.

For more information about the enrolment process, please click here: https://warwick.ac.uk/students/welcome/enrolment/

Notification

Once you are on the system, the Enrolment team will confirm your user code. If you already have an applicant account your user code will remain the same. The enrolment team will guide you through the registration process.

Registration

Next you will need to register your student user code - click here: https://websignon.warwick.ac.uk/origin/account/register

Note: if you are a current student or an alumnus with an existing user code you do not need to re-register your account, it will be extended for continued use into your next course.

Verify your details

Before finalising your account set-up, it is important to ensure that all details, especially your date of birth (DOB) and membership dates, are correct. This verification step helps avoid any discrepancies or issues later. If you spot anything that needs changing or you need further help, don't hesitate to reach out for support (see details in our Help panel on the left).

For any inquiries or assistance regarding your student user code setup, feel free to contact our Student Records team via email at studentrecords@warwick.ac.uk. They provide support and guidance to ensure a smooth experience for all our students.

By registering for a University of Warwick user code, you will agree to abide by the policies and regulationsLink opens in a new window governing the acceptable use of computing facilities.

Important to remember

  • For new accounts, always create a new password - do not reuse the same password across multiple accounts.
  • Review how you store and remember your passwords.
