IDG has carried out a successful pilot project to migrate over 30,000 files from their Windows drives to new Sharepoint Hubsites. Two teams in Estates and IDG planned and executed the file migrations to improve data access and compliance and adherence to data sensitivity and record retention policies.

The staff working on the project are now acting as champions within their departments; they have the confidence to propose best practice for file storage and are ready to adopt expected new policies and rules as they are released.

One of the Senior Users in this project gave the following feedback: “ I now feel equipped to be able to make better decisions on how we manage our central file and folder storage and am confident to advise others. I understand how I can make changes to our file storage to improve our compliance with key policies and standards.”
