SiteBuilder release notes
SiteBuilder 2.436 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.436 on Wednesday 3rd June 2020. In this version:
- We made some accessibility improvements, including:
- Labels for input fields, for example on forms or in a page's properties, now present screen reader software with better information.
- We also fixed some bugs, including two that affected resource booking pages:
- It is now not possible to create two periods of unavailability with the same start time. Doing so meant that the periods could not subsequently be deleted.
- On pages with many resources, the tabs for these no longer overlap the time slots.
SiteBuilder 2.435 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.435 on Tuesday 26th May 2020. In this version:
- You can now choose a tiled layout for news pages. When you create a new page and change the page template to 'News', you can choose 'List' or 'Tiles' in the 'Display format' dropdown. You can also change the display format of an existing news page by editing its properties.
- We made some accessibility improvements:
- When you insert a video into a page there is now a box to specify a captions file.
- On news and calendar pages there is greater contrast between the colours of tags and the text within them.
- We made some changes to the properties for payment forms:
- There is now the option 'Send email receipt on successful payment', which enables you to turn off email receipts from SiteBuilder to users. Note, though, that if the form collects the user's email address, the online payments system will still send a receipt.
- The options to include submitted data and files in email notifications of submissions are now disabled.
- When you add surrounding content to a forum page, it is now displayed below the page title, as intended.
SiteBuilder 2.434 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.434 on Friday 15th May 2020. In this version:
-
We added two new page templates to the options available when you create a new page:
-
Module – to present details of a module, drawn from the Module Catalogue.
-
Multiple Researcher Profiles - to display the combined publications and research projects of two or more researchers, drawn from the IDEATE system.
-
-
Pop-ups throughout SiteBuilder, such as the one you see when you make a booking on a bookings page, are now more accessible. They are visible to screen reader software and can be navigated using only a keyboard.
-
Notifications now work for 'News filter' and 'Calendar filter' pages drawing content directly from a news or calendar page. When a new item is added to the news or calendar page, users signed up for notifications on the filter page receive an email. This applies if the new item is tagged with at least one of the tags used for the filter page.
-
We did some work on forms:
-
Payment forms now include an ‘Intended Payment’ column when you view submissions. In the event of an unsuccessful payment, the intended payment amount is shown here.
-
In a form’s properties, text you enter in the 'Message' box, to show to users when they've submitted the form, is now checked. If the text, plus accompanying HTML, is over 2000 characters long you see a warning about this and must reduce the length. Previously, including more than 2000 characters caused an error.
-
When you specify that a link within a comment on a form should open in a new window, this now works. Previously, the HTML to achieve this was removed by the visual editor.
-
