Tabula release notes

Tabula 2019.4.2 released

We released Tabula 2019.4.2 on Thursday 18th April 2019. This release includes some improvements to the auditability of moderated work, and improvements to the way extension requests work.

  • In moderated marking workflows, submissions that were not selected to be moderated now show as "skipped" in the progress bar so that it's clear which submissions were seen by the moderator and which weren't. We've done our best to make this information available for past work, but unfortunately it wasn't possible for workflows where the moderator chooses which submissions to moderate, so these will show as all submissions being moderated. Going forward, this will show correctly for work going through moderation.
  • Assignments that don't collect submissions will now be shown to students in the "Upcoming" section prior to feedback being published. Where these assignments allow extensions, this also allows students to submit extension requests for assignments that don't collect submissions.
  • When a student has an extension request that's been approved or rejected, if a student submits another extension request this is treated as an additional extension request, rather than changing (and automatically unapproving) the existing one. This means there is a full history where multiple extensions are granted to a student on an assignment.

  • the box for marker feedback within marking workflows is now taller, making the feedback easier to read and scroll through
  • when using the 'Edit' button within an exam grid to display overcatting mark options for a student, both the pop-up table and the downloadable spreadsheet include the student’s University ID

Tabula 2019.3.4 released

We released Tabula 2019.3.4 on Thursday 28 March 2019. Included in this release:

  • We now display to markers the assignment close date (i.e. the submission deadline for students) in the Upcoming marking section of the Coursework landing page.
  • We now show both the year mark and weighted mean mark on the Modules page of a student's profile. These figures are usually the same but can be different where adjustments have been applied due to mitigating circumstances or over-catting calculations.
  • Inactive routes are no longer displayed in the Route filter when viewing or recording monitoring points. It is still possible to search for an inactive route.
  • It is possible to sort on the Length of extension column when viewing extensions for an assignment or department.
  • When making feedback adjustments for late penalties, selecting Use the suggested mark will add a note displaying the late penalty calculation in the adjustment comments field. This note will be visible to the student.

Tabula 2019.3.3 released

We released Tabula 2019.3.3 on Friday 22 March 2019.

This included a handful of bug fixes and some additional wording in the user interface to clarify what can be put in the new marker notes field. This reminder which appears below the field reads: "Notes are visible to markers, moderators and administrators for this assignment. Notes are not normally shared with students but could be disclosed at the request of the student concerned."

Tabula 2019.3.2 released

We released Tabula 2019.3.2 on Thursday 21 March 2019.

We have added a marker note field to each stage of a marking workflow. Notes are visible to markers, moderators and administrators and not normally visible to students, but could be disclosed on request. This may be useful for providing additional information to Examiners on how marks have been derived. Marker notes can be added to assignments created from now onward. Also:

  • As requested by the User Group, we now provide more information on the Modules page of a student's profile. This includes agreed component marks as well as the agreed calculated year mark and weighting.
  • We have added a progress bar to the assignment submission process so that students can monitor the upload of their file(s).
