Tabula release notes
Tabula 2021.2.3 released
We released Tabula 2021.2.3 on Thursday 18th February 2021. In this version:
- We completed some work on the self-certification functionality enabled in the previous release:
- When a self-certification is cancelled, the student's markers for the relevant assignments are now notified.
- We fixed a bug that prevented Extension Managers from adding attachments to, or deleting, self-certification notes.
- Submitted self-certifications now show the Tabula name of each affected assignment. Previously, they showed the name of the linked assessment component from SITS.
- We fixed a bug that affected the 'Missed assessments report' in the Reports component. Reports for a date range that encompassed open assignments, or students within extensions, produced an error.
Tabula 2021.2.2 released
We released Tabula 2021.2.2 on Monday 15th February 2021. In this version:
- We completed the work required to enable self-certification in Tabula. A couple of things to note:
- 'Mitigating Circumstances' in the local navigation menu in Tabula now appears as 'Personal Circumstances' for Mitigating Circumstances Officers who are also a Departmental Administrator or Extension Manager. Mitigating Circumstances Officers who have neither of those two roles still see 'Mitigating Circumstances'.
- Some of the technical notes refer to self-certification functionality related to MCOs (Mitigating Circumstances Officers). This was subsequently changed, via TAB-9072, such that Extension Managers (and Departmental Administrators) have the responsibility and permissions for managing self-certifications.
Tabula 2021.2.1 released
We released Tabula 2021.2.1 on Thursday 4th February 2021. In this version:
- We completed more work on the forthcoming Self-Certification functionality.
- Redundant items no longer appear in the local navigation menu on students' timetables. Previously, separate course codes appeared here, but selecting them did not change the events shown. Thanks to Oscar Harris for making this change, via an open source contribution.
- When you create a course exam grid, the Course dropdown now displays the full name of each course, as it appears in SITS. This makes it easier to distinguish between courses with similar codes.
Tabula 2021.1.4 released
We released Tabula 2021.1.4 on Friday 29th January 2021. In this version:
- We completed some preparatory work for the forthcoming Self-Certification functionality.
- The table on the 'Submissions and feedback' page for an assignment can now be sorted by the contents of the 'Plagiarism report' column.
- Timetables for previous years now display all relevant small group teaching events (for performance reasons, Tabula 2021.1.2 temporarily restricted timetables to showing small group teaching events in the current year only).
- The 'attendance last updated' details shown on the 'Record attendance' page for an event are now correct. A bug caused the time and date of the first update to be displayed, rather than the latest.
Tabula 2021.1.3 released
We released Tabula 2021.1.3 on Thursday 21st January 2021. In this version:
- We added a new small group set type, 'SGT Lecture':
- This is for imported Syllabus+ lecture events.
- When you import small groups from Syllabus+, you may see sets of groups listed as 'SGT Lectures'. Importing such a set results in a Tabula small group set of the type 'SGT Lecture', with the corresponding lecture events.
- You can also manually create a Tabula small group set of this type and then import the relevant Syllabus+ lecture events on the Events screen.
- You allocate students to the groups in 'SGT Lecture' sets in Tabula. No allocations are held in or imported from Syllabus+.
- Events within Syllabus+ 'SGT Lectures' groups are not shown on timetables in Tabula via the Syllabus+ timetable feed. You can instead display the imported events to staff and students when you publish the groups in Tabula. The events are labelled 'Lecture'.
- When you publish the groups, both the 'Staff' and 'Students' checkboxes are pre-selected.
- In contrast, for group sets of type 'Lecture', the 'Students' checkbox is unselected and a warning that the events may duplicate a Syllabus+ whole cohort event is displayed.
- We completed some preparatory work for improvements to how resits are generated in Marks Management.
- The checks completed when small groups are created within Tabula or imported from a spreadsheet are now consistent. We also restored the validation message shown, via either method, when a group has no name.
- We added the facility for students' profiles to show their preferred pronouns. This relies on a change to eVision, to provide students the option of specifying their preferred pronouns during course registration. Once this is complete and the pronouns are available in SITS, Tabula will import and display them.
