Can I record a StarLeaf meeting?

What is the recommended method of joining StarLeaf meetings?

We recommend using a web browser.

Can I mute and remove other participants in the StarLeaf meeting?

Who can screen share during meetings?

Anyone with the join link can share their screen while in a session.

Can participants join their video meeting as an audio-only participant from a telephone?

Yes, StarLeaf provides global dial-in numbers for scheduled meetings.

How to install StarLeaf App?

You can install StarLeaf on all of your devices. (Go to Downloads ). For more information visit StarLeaf App.

  1. Run StarLeaf on your phone, computer, or tablet and enter your email address.
  2. StarLeaf sends you an email containing your 6-digit one-time code.
  3. Type the code into the app and you are signed in on that device.
Should I schedule meetings using the StarLeaf app?

No, although StarLeaf app allows users to create meetings you will not be covered by the University's site licence and are essentially using an unauthorised method to conduct meetings. Please complete the Booking form to have your meetings scheduled.

What is the maximum number of participants cameras that are viewable concurrently?

A maximum of 25 participant’s camera are viewable, which is contingent on selecting the Equal panes layout when using the StarLeaf app.

What is the maximum number of participants that can join the meeting?

Depending on other concurrent calls on campus you can have up to 100 to 300 participants in single meeting.

What type of meeting layouts are there and how many people are visible with each layout option?

The following video layouts are available for all meetings. You can change these layouts while using the StarLeaf app. Our organisation default layout for web browser is the first layout in the table below. You can request for different layout when you log a call with us via the Booking form.

In this layout, the current speaker is given prominence with the largest pane. Other participants are displayed in a strip below the current speaker. A maximum of five participants appear in the strip. Counters display the numbers of additional audio and video participants in the meeting
In this layout, every participant is given equal prominence in equal-sized panes. The number of panes is determined by the number of participants in the meeting. Up to 25 participants are shown. Counters display the numbers of additional audio and video participants in the meeting
In this layout, only the current speaker is seen in a large pane. This layout is sometimes known as ‘speaker-only’. Counters display the numbers of additional audio and video participants in the meeting
In this layout, the current speaker is given prominence in the largest pane. The size of that pane is determined by the number of other people in the meeting.
